Klopp gives injury update ahead of Fulham game

It was good news on the injury front for Liverpool fans today as Jurgen Klopp confirmed three players are fit and available for selection on Sunday.

Klopp was speaking to reporters ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League fixture with Fulham this weekend. He said that Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita were all ready to return to action after recent injuries. Liverpool have had a lot of injury problems in recent months – especially with midfielders.

“It’s good to have them back. It is probably the first time that all midfielder players, apart from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, have been available,” said Klopp at his pre-match press conference.

Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a very serious knee injury in April against Roma and is not expected to return to action until next May at the earliest.

Klopp will be delighted to have club captain Jordan Henderson and summer signing Naby Keita back in the squad. Liverpool, like all Premier League clubs, will be hoping to avoid any more serious injuries between now and the hectic December schedule.

Liverpool need a confidence-boosting return to form against Fulham after losing 2-0 in the Champions League last Tuesday against Red Star. Fulham, however, are bottom of the league and have conceded 29 goals in just 11 games.

The pressure is already on The Reds to hang onto the coattails of Manchester City and Chelsea at the top of the league table.
