Klopp discusses budding Van Dijk and Gomes partnership

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side will be aiming to maintain their 100% start to their Premier League campaign when they travel to Wembley to face Spurs tomorrow.

Many are crediting the Anfield outfits excellent start to this campaign to their new found defensive solidity, with the newly formed central defensive partnership of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomes in superb form.

Speaking to the press ahead of his sides trip to London Klopp has been discussing how much the pair enjoy playing together.

“Joe has big potential, I’m happy, but more interested in his performance tomorrow.

“We have to deliver week in, week out. Both like each other. It’s a good relationship. They like to play together.

“Virgil’s presence helps. If Joe is not a fantastic footballer, it would not help. If you play with Van Dijk, it wouldn’t work.”
