Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is interested in signing Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele this summer.
The Frenchman became one of the world’s most expensive players last summer when he swapped Borussia Dortmund for Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar, who of course made the £198 million move to PSG.
Despite having high hopes for the 20-year-old, Dembele has struggled to settle at the Nou Camp, where he has made just 20 appearances in all competitions this season thanks to a number of injuries. He has made just nine starts in La Liga, and has been subbed off in all but one of them.
He was forced to miss four months of action after a picking up a serious muscle injury back in September – in what was just his third appearance for the Catalan club.
His lack of form and fitness have seen him linked with a potential exit from the Nou Camp this summer, with Liverpool one of the clubs that have been linked, and Jurgen Klopp has now confirmed that he would be interested in signing the starlet.
When asked about a potential interest in the youngster, Klopp said: “Is he on the market? Now I’m interested.”
Dembele was an unused substitute in last nights El Classico against Real Madrid which ended 2-2. Gareth Bale scored a fine equaliser against the 10 man champions, but has also been linked with a potential return to the Premier League, with Anfield a potential destination.
