Loris Karius has admitted he is considering his future at Liverpool following the club’s World Record capture of goalkeeper Alisson.
Liverpool made Alisson Becker the most expensive of all time last week when they agreed to pay Roma £67 million for his services, eclipsing the £35 million that Manchester City paid last summer to sign his compatriot, Ederson Moraes.
He has been brought in to replace Loris Karius, who made two high profile and costly mistakes in the Champions League final last season, practically gifting Real Madrid their 13th European crown.
While Alisson is still on his summer break after taking part in the World Cup, Karius has been keeping goal for Liverpool during their pre-season preparations, although he has made some more glaring errors, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp openly admitting that Alisson will be his new No 1, the future seems bleak for Karius.
The German ‘keeper was less than impressive in Liverpool’s recent 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in Charlotte, USA, and has now admitted he is considering his future:
“Of course that’s not perfect for me, but I cannot say much more about that either,” he said.
“I do not know that, I cannot say what I’m doing right now, there’s still some time left [in the transfer window].”
