Karanka reveals ‘it’s important to keep the balance ahead of Leeds clash

Aitor Karanka has called for composure from his Nottingham Forest players this weekend against Leeds United.

Forest were leading in their game against Norwich last weekend, but surrendered the lead with two goals conceded in the final half an hour.

Karanka has urged for his players to not make the same mistakes again.

“It is important to keep the balance. You can’t finish the game like we did against Norwich thinking everything had been lost, or finish the game yesterday thinking that we are in the Premier League.’’ He said in his pre-match press conference.

“It is about keeping the balance, to improve every day and to not think that we are really good when we win games and really bad when we lose games.

But, despite the loss, Forest bounced back with a 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers midweek and Karanka will be hoping they can replicate that performance against Leeds this weekend.

The former Middlesbrough manager knows what it takes to build a successful squad having led Boro to the Premier League previously, and believes he has assembled a squad with the right characters.

“It is just to trust the work that the players have been doing in the training ground, the work they are doing in every single game because when I built this squad, I knew that it was bringing together a lot of good players and good characters.”
