Harry Kane is keeping ‘an open mind’ regarding his future at Spurs as the forward prepares to hold talks with new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Kane’s future is uncertain after entering the final 12 months of his deal in north London and the England captain has been subject of two rejected bids from Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga champions have made Kane their priority as the club look to sign a centre-forward and hope an improved chance of winning elusive silverware can tempt the forward to leave the Premier League.
Kane has failed to win a major trophy in his career to date, but is nearing individual immortality as he chases down Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record. The Daily Mail are reporting that Kane is undecided on his future and will approach talks with Postecoglou with an open mind.
The Australian has been tasked with overseeing a rebuild of Spurs after a disappointing campaign and will want clarity on the future of the club’s all-time record goalscorer.
Kane’s exit would be a detrimental blow to hopes of securing Champions League qualification next season, but his departure would provide further funds for Postecoglou to strengthen the squad.
Spurs are hopeful of persuading Kane to sign a new deal and will offer the forward a club-record proposal, but the 29-year-old is aware that he will have his choice of elite options as a free agent next summer should he run down his contract.
