Juventus, who currently lead the Europa League table, welcome French club Rennes to the Allianz Stadium on Thursday. The Italian side will be aiming to recover from a disappointing league result while continuing their strong run in Europe.
The Bianconeri arrive looking for stability after suffering a painful 3-0 defeat to Lazio at the weekend. However, prior to that loss, they displayed resilience by coming from behind to beat Celta Vigo 2-1 in the Europa League. Spalletti will hope his players can respond quickly on the European stage, regain their confidence, and build momentum in the league phase, especially in front of their home supporters.
Juventus team news
Juventus’ preparations suffered a further blow in their last training session at Continassa. Francisco Conceição, Kamil Grabara, Khéphren Thuram, Manuel Locatelli, Jeff Ekhator, and Kenan Yıldız have all been ruled out due to different fitness concerns.
Even with several important players unavailable, Spalletti is determined to maintain an attacking approach and has confirmed that Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade will start together up front.
Edon Zhegrova will not feature, as he was left out of Juventus’ registered Europa League squad.
The hosts are likely to line up in a 3-4-2-1 system, with Kerim Ajazbegovic and Weston McKennie expected to provide creativity behind the attack as Juventus look to unlock Rennes’ defence.
