Juventus and AC Milan are set to face off at the Allianz Stadium this Sunday, with both sides hoping to keep their perfect winning records intact as the new season gets underway.

Currently sitting in fifth place in Serie A, Juventus have won both of their opening matches. Manager Luciano Spalletti’s team began their campaign with a careful and controlled 1-0 win on the road against Frosinone. They then built on that momentum with an impressive 2-0 victory at home versus Parma, finding the net through Nico González and Teun Koopmeiners. The fact that they’ve kept clean sheets in both games shows just how solid their defence has been, even though they’re dealing with plenty of injury problems across the squad.

Juventus team news

Juventus are walking into this big match with a major injury headache. Spalletti is without seven important players, leaving the Bianconeri badly short on options, especially in attack and out wide.

The biggest blow came when it was confirmed that standout winger Kenan Yıldiz will miss around three months of action after breaking a bone in his foot.

To make matters worse, midfielder Khéphren Thuram is also out for several months with a serious issue and hasn’t even been included in the club’s official 25-man Serie A squad list.

Defender Juan Cabal and promising young forward Jeff Ekhator remain sidelined with long-term problems as well.

On top of all that, fullback Andrea Cambiaso picked up an ankle sprain in the Parma game and won’t be available, while Weston McKennie has been training away from the main group.

Newly signed midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, who arrived on deadline day, is also ruled out because of a muscle injury, meaning Spalletti will need to tweak his tactical plans.
