Manchester United and Man City transfer target Douglas Costa will not be sold in the upcoming January transfer window according to reports in Italy.
The Brazil international has been linked with the Manchester giants, with Manchester United apparently tabling a £54 million bid for the winger in a bid to rectify their glaring lack of a winger down the right.
However, according to Italian publication Calciomercato, Costa has told the Serie A champions that he is not looking for a way out of the club and would like to stay in Turin, with Juventus subsequently rejecting United’s approach.
Meanwhile, despite already having an embarrassment of riches in wide areas, Man City boss Pep Guardiola is also thought to be keen on his signature, having worked with Costa during his time at Bayern Munich.
Costa left Bayern in 2017, initially on a season-long loan, before making the move permanent just this summer.
Last season, he scored six goals and laid on 14 assists as he helped the Bianconeri win their seventh consecutive league title. However, this time out, a number of injuries and suspensions have seen him fail to score a single goal and has started just four Serie A games to date.
Despite his reduced game time, and the interest from the Premier League, it seems as though the 28-year-old will be staying in Italy until the end of the season at least.
