Italian champions Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United outcast Matteo Darmian according to reports in Italy.
The Italy international defender has fallen way down the pecking order at Old Trafford this season, making just two starts and a further two substitute appearances in the Premier League.
Even the absence of Antonio Valencia at right back has seen the likes of Ashley Young and Victor Lindelof preferred in recent weeks, while Luke Shaw seems to be back in Jose Mourinho’s good books and making a play to make the left back position his own.
Meanwhile, Juventus are resigned to losing full back pair Stephan Lichtsteiner and Alex Sandro in the summer and, according to Calciomercato, have identified Darmian as a potential replacement.
With Darmian on the fringes of the Manchester United squad, several clubs in Italy have been linked with an interest, including Roma.
However, the players agent Tullio Tinti has recently said that his client is not for sale, and he has not had any contact with Roma:
“I have never received calls from Roma for the player, there are contacts with other Serie A teams, but not with the Giallorossi.
“For the moment, the boy is not for sale.”
