Juventus chief admits interest in Man Utd player

Jose Mourinho is a manger who likes to get his transfer business done nice and early, and the Red Devils have been dominating the transfer headlines in the past few days.

United have been linked with an abundance of players, with a deal for Brazilian midfielder Fred thought to be incredibly close. They have also been strongly linked with Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld and Alex Sandro, as well as being linked with the likes of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Mario Mandzukic, Willian and Djibril Sidibe.

However while there could be a number of big money arrivals at Old Trafford, there is also expected to be a number of departures this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to close the 19 point gap to Manchester City next season.

One of those players on their way out could be Italian full-back Matteo Darmian, and while he has barely featured for United this season, he could be set for a high profile move to Italian Champions Juventus, after club director Beppe Marotta confirmed their interest:

โ€œDarmian could fit in terms of those opportunities, players and profiles weโ€™re looking for,โ€said Marotta.

โ€œHeโ€™s also an Italian player and we always think that the hardcore of a squad like Juventus should be represented by players who can also wear the Azzurri shirt.

โ€œItalians have more ability and speed in terms of understanding our environment, so I canโ€™t hide that Darmian is a player who interests us.โ€
