Foden hails Bellingham as ‘unreal talent’ after England beat Scotland

Phil Foden has hailed Jude Bellingham as an ‘unreal talent’ after the midfielder starred in England’s 3-1 win over Scotland.

England impressed to secure a comfortable win against their old rivals at Hampden Park, with Bellingham at the centre of the Three Lions’ success in a fixture to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first meeting between the British nations.

The 20-year-old – who has scored five goals in four La Liga appearances since joining Real Madrid during the summer – scored one and created another as England cruised to a friendly win.

Foden opened the scoring after turning in Kyle Walker’s wayward shot, before Bellingham doubled England’s lead after capitalising on an awful error from Scotland captain Andy Robertson.

Gareth Southgate’s side dominated the game, but Scotland were handed a lifeline after Harry Maguire’s own goal halved the deficit.

The Three Lions pushed forward and restored their advantage however, as Bellingham – the game’s outstanding player – turned away from Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor to set up Harry Kane to score England’s third.

Foden was full of praise for his teammate and admitted Bellingham is already crucial to England’s game-plan under Southgate.

“He’s so mature for his age, an unreal talent, a massive talent and important for us with the way we play,” Foden said, as per the BBC.

“We need Jude a lot and it’s a pleasure to play with him and we link-up really well.”
