Jose Mourinho has barely got his feet under the table at Old Trafford and is yet to host his first training session, but the Portuguese is already frustrated as the club’s manager.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Mourinho has grown frustrated at United’s lack of transfer activity so far this summer, after completing only one deal, the £30million signing of Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
Mourinho is a huge admirer of Portugal midfielder Renato Sanches, but United’s dithering on the deal allowed Bayern Munich to sneak in and seal the signing from under Manchester United’s nose. The official reason is that United weren’t interested, but unofficially it was Louis van Gaals Manchester United that weren’t interest, and in a bid to continue public ally backing the Dutchman until the bitter end, they saw one of Europes hottest properties slip through their fingers.
United are also pursuing deals for Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovics early exit from Euro 2016 could speed things along in that deal too.
Mourinho has also been linked with making big money moves for Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, Andre Gomes, John Stones, Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku…to name just a few.
The Manchester United squad meet up on 4th July for pre-season training.
