Jorginho: Sarri to Juventus would be a ‘betrayal’

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has warned Maurizio Sarri that joining Juventus would be a ‘betrayal’ in the eyes of Napoli fans.

The Chelsea manager has been strongly linked with the vacancy at the Italian champions, with Juventus reportedly ready to offer the Italian a return to Serie A less than a year after leaving Naples for Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho – who played under Sarri at Napoli before following him to the Premier League – says Sarri has done a good job at Chelsea and has warned the 60-year-old that replacing Max Allegri at their Serie A rivals would be hard for the Napoli fans to forgive.

“We finished third in the Premier League, we won the Europa League and we reached the EFL Cup Final despite all the critics,” Jorginho told a press conference ahead of Italy’s European Qualifier against Greece.

“It was a good first season in Chelsea. It would be sad for everyone.

“The Napoli fans still have him in their hearts; it’s normal that they could get angry. They could treat it as a betrayal; they’re like that. We’ll see what happens.”
