Jonathan Tah is still planning to leave Bayer Leverkusen as a free agent next summer.
The centre-back expressed a desire to leave the Bundesliga champions in the summer but saw a move fail to materialise despite interest from Bayern Munich.
Leverkusen refused to budge on their asking price for the 28-year-old with Bayern unwilling to meet the price tag for a player whose deal expires in 2025.
Tah is expected to leave Leverkusen on a free transfer next summer with no intention to sign an extension to his current deal.
Premier League clubs interested in Leverkusen defender
Bayern remain interested in the Germany international, though face competition from Barcelona and the Premier League, according to Sky Germany.
Tah was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season in 2023/24 after helping Leverkusen to a maiden title success.
Xabi Alonso’s team became the first team in German top-flight history to complete a campaign unbeaten with Tah an integral part of the club’s success. The defender has made 363 appearances for Leverkusen in all competitions since arriving from Hamburg for a fee of €7.5 million in 2015.
