John Stones tells Everton: "I want out!"

John Stones has told Everton that he wants to leave the club, amid intense speculation about a move to Manchester City.

The Liverpool Echo claim that the young England defender has told club officials, including manager Ronald Koeman, that his preference is to leave the club.

The 22-year old is still on a post Euro 2016 break, but wants to start his pre-season preparations with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

It is expected that the Everton defender will eventually make a move to the Etihad, for a fee of £50million. The majority of that figure will likely have to be reinvested in a replacement for the defender! as Everton have already started plans for life without Stones. It has been speculated that the Blues have already made a big money move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who is also attracting the attentions of Chelsea.
