Joao Pedro has signed a new contract at Chelsea that will keep the forward at the club until June 2032.
Pedro has been rewarded with a new deal after an excellent first season at Chelsea that culminated in the club’s Player of the Season award.
The Brazilian scored 23 goals in all competitions to finish as Chelsea’s leading scorer, and has been in prolific form during the pre-season.
Barcelona expressed interest in signing Pedro earlier this summer, but a full agreement on a new contract has now been finalised. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Pedro has put ‘pen to paper’ on the six-year deal, which includes a salary increase and an option to extend beyond 2032.
Chelsea consider Pedro a key part of their project with the forward set to spearhead Xabi Alonso’s new-look side in the upcoming campaign.
An official announcement on the new contract from Chelsea is expected imminently.
