Jadon Sancho admits Dortmund feels like ‘home’

Jadon Sancho has admitted that returning to Borussia Dortmund ‘feels like coming home’ after registering an assist on his second debut for the club.

Sancho re-signed for Dortmund on a six-month loan deal this week after a disappointing spell in the Premier League at Manchester United. The England international had not featured for Manchester United since August, following a high-profile fallout with manager Erik ten Hag.

Dortmund agreed a deal to bring Sancho back to the club, where he rose to prominence with four excellent seasons in the Bundesliga between 2017 and 2021.

The 23-year-old wasted little time in making an impact upon his return, coming off the substitute’s bench to set up Marco Reus in the club’s 3-0 win at Darmstadt on Saturday.

Following the win, Sancho said his return to Dortmund felt like ‘coming back home’ and outlined his intention to enjoy his football once again at the Westfalenstadion, after seeing his career stall across the last two campaigns,

“It feels like coming back home. I’m happy to be back on the pitch again,” Sancho said, as per Fabrizio Romano.

“I’m here to be happy again and help the team, smile again.

“It was just meant to be! Me coming back, assist to Marco Reus…”
