Jack Wilshere on verge of signing a new Arsenal deal

Jack Wilshere’s contract standoff with Arsenal seems to be coming to an end as he prepares to sign a new three year deal with the London club.

According to The Mirror Arsenal’s initial offer included the England International taking a pay cut – something Wilshere wasn’t too happy with. However, the Gunners have now improved their offer so they don’t lose one of their main midfielders for free next month.

Arsenal are no strangers to difficult contract situations with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil recently being at odds with the club regarding their deals. Sanchez ended up signing with Manchester United six months before his Arsenal deal ran out. Whereas Ozil got a significant pay increase to stay with the Gunners.

Wilshere’s saga has been somewhat different as he has had a great desire to stay at the club, but his long history of injures has maybe made Arsenal a bit hesitant about giving him a big new contract. The midfielder has been a lot more consistent in staying fit this season, but this new contract still includes a pay as you play clause.

This news will be great for Arsenal fans as they love Jack Wilshere’s passion for the club and when he is able to stay fit he is one of the Gunners better players.
