No matter what your opinion is, Mesut Ozil often causes plenty of debate, but one man who can’t sing his praises high enough is Alex Iwobi, who has been discussing how highly he rates his Arsenal teammate.
While nobody can doubt that on his day, Ozil is one of the best creative players in the game, the 29-year-old is often criticised for his lack of work-rate.
As Arsenal stretched their winning run to 10 games in all competitions with their 3-1 win over Leicester City last night, Ozil was the standout performer, scoring with a sublime finish just before half-time, and Gunners winger Alex Iwobi has said that it is a privilege to play alongside the ‘world class’ German.
“Of course I get the privilege to play with him every day,” Iwobi told reporters after the game at the Emirates.
“I have been training with him since I was 17 and I have seen what he can do. The quality he has is not just in training but as you can see in the match last night, he is a world-class player and he proved that again last night.
“He gives me advice in a different way. He jokes around but always tells me I can do more – even last night he was saying I can do more, he is always one of those guys.
“But he is always happy, always telling me and giving me the confidence to express myself so it helps me.
“Mesut will come across as laid back but he is helping everyone in a different way and he helps me a lot.”
