Arsenal and Liverpool played out a pulsating 1-1 draw in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening, and Gunners winger Alex Iwobi reckons that it was a fair result.
Iwobi came on as a substitute after 68 minutes, replacing Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and was instrumental in Arsenal‘s late equaliser, playing a fantastic through ball into the run of Alexandre Lacazette who finished well after beating Alisson Becker to the pass.
Speaking after the game, the Nigerian international thought that both sides deserved to get something out of the game:
“It was a difficult game with both attacking teams and I guess the fair result was the draw,” Iwobi told BBC Sport.
“We are giving extra intensity and you can see the manager demands a lot not just in games but on the training pitch and it is paying off.
“People say juice is banned but we do get it in the mornings so he is not too strict! It is not just the nutrition it is the attention to detail and tactics and you can see we are enjoying it.”
Arsenal are now unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions and Unai Emery seems to have settled in very quickly in North London.
Emery’s men face Sporting on Thursday night in the Europa League before welcoming newly-promoted Wolves to the Emirates next weekend.
