Ireland will meet Israel in their final match of this international break, with the Irish side aiming to end their UEFA Nations League campaign on a positive note at the TSC Arena on Sunday.

Ireland comes into the contest with an inconsistent record but has maintained encouraging momentum in Group B3. Their Nations League campaign began with a narrow 1-0 loss away to Kosovo. However, they responded strongly in their next match, beating Israel 3-0 in Hungary. Troy Parrott, Adam Idah, and Jack Moylan were all on the scoresheet as Ireland produced an impressive performance. In their latest outing, they shared the points with Austria in a thrilling 2-2 draw in Dublin. Parrott scored twice to put Ireland ahead on both occasions, but Austria eventually fought back to claim a point.

Ireland team news

The fixture is being played under considerable political pressure, with the match attracting significant attention in Ireland because of the circumstances surrounding the meeting.

One of the main talking points concerns reserve goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu. He chose not to take part in the first meeting for moral reasons but has since returned to the squad and featured in Ireland’s later draw against Austria.

Managerial choices have also been strengthened by the return of midfielder Finn Azaz, whose presence gives the team another creative option in the centre of the pitch.

Ireland will also be encouraged by the recent form of forward Jack Moylan, who scored during the previous match against Israel.

He is expected to lead the attacking line alongside Troy Parrott and Adam Idah, as the Irish team looks to claim another important three points in Group B3.
