Gary O’Neil’s side began the season with a narrow win over Sunderland but have since shown defensive frailties that have left them with the joint-highest expected-goals-against total in the division alongside Saturday’s opponents.
O’Neil is without a win over Crystal Palace in five previous Premier League meetings as a manager, though he arrives with close to a fully fit squad. “To go to Crystal Palace with basically a fully fit squad is a testament to the work that’s been done,” he said.

Jack Taylor remains the only injury absentee after O’Neil confirmed this week that Azor Matusiwa and Jaden Philogene are both back involved with the main training group. Philogene, who scored 13 goals in all competitions last season, is now considered ready to start, though Matusiwa is more likely to feature among the substitutes.
O’Neil is unlikely to make wholesale changes to his starting side, but new signing Zian Flemming could be handed a first start up front at the expense of Emersonn, who the head coach said has been “really impressed me” since arriving in the summer. Julio Enciso, who has attempted more shots without scoring than any other Premier League player this season, is expected to continue in an advanced central role between Abdul Fatawu and Daizen Maeda.
