Inter Milan make the trip to face Hellas Verona in Serie A this Sunday as they look to close the gap on the teams at the top of the table.

Both teams are eager to win for different reasons. Christian Chivu’s side are third in the standings and looking to challenge for the Scudetto, while Hellas are third from bottom and in danger of going down.

After suffering a 3-1 defeat to Napoli, Inter responded strongly by overpowering Fiorentina 3-0 at the San Siro on Wednesday night.

Currently, the Nerazzurri occupy third place in the Serie A standings with 18 points from nine matches, trailing the joint leaders Napoli and Roma by three points. They have won five of their last six league fixtures, with their only recent loss coming at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on October.

Marcus Thuram has completed his recovery and resumed full training, making him available for selection after being sidelined for a month due to a hamstring injury suffered during Inter’s 3-0 win over Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League at the end of September. The forward is expected to start on the bench as he eases his way back into action.

Meanwhile, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and defender Matteo Darmian remain out, but Inter have not reported any fresh injury concerns. Carlos Augusto might replace Federico Dimarco in the left wing-back position if the manager opts to rotate the squad.
