Inter Milan and AS Roma, currently occupying the top two positions in the Serie A standings, will meet in a major league contest on Saturday at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.
Inter Milan will also arrive in Rome with a perfect record from their first four Serie A matches. Cristian Chivu’s side started the campaign with a convincing 4-1 victory over Monza. They then followed that result with a narrow 1-0 win away to Cagliari. Inter continued their strong run by defeating Napoli 3-2 before producing a dramatic 5-3 victory against Udinese in a high-scoring contest.
Inter’s only defeat this season came in European competition. The Nerazzurri suffered a close 2-1 loss away to Real Madrid in the Champions League, but they have otherwise been flawless in the league.

Chivu has difficult selection decisions to make because Inter are dealing with several important absences in midfield and defence.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu will miss the match as he continues to recover from an adductor strain. The Italian champions will also be without new summer arrival John Stones, who is expected to spend around one month on the sidelines because of a thigh injury.
There is some positive news for Inter, however, as Federico Dimarco has recovered from a minor knee problem. The left-back is fit again and is expected to start on the flank against Roma.
In midfield, Piotr Zieliński is likely to take on a deeper role and help cover for the absence of Çalhanoğlu.
At the back, Yann Bisseck, Manuel Akanji and Alessandro Bastoni are expected to line up as Inter’s defensive trio.
The visitors will look to their star forwards to provide the difference at the other end of the pitch. Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martínez are set to lead the attack, with the reigning Scudetto holders relying on their powerful partnership to test Roma’s defence.
