Inter Milan welcome Fiorentina to the San Siro on Sunday for their next Serie A game, aiming to climb to the summit of the table.

The Nerazzurri arrive in outstanding domestic form, having avoided defeat in each of their last five Serie A matches. They have won four and drawn one during that stretch, and their attacking output has been particularly impressive, with 21 goals netted in seven league fixtures. Inter also added a hard-fought 1-0 Champions League victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek, giving them plenty of confidence heading into the weekend.

Inter Milan team news

Cristian Chivu has a difficult team-selection task because of a worsening injury list. Captain and leading attacker Lautaro Martínez is definitely unavailable, with a serious hamstring injury sustained in Europe expected to keep him out until the middle of November.

Brazilian wide player Luis Henrique is the newest absentee after picking up a strain to his left thigh adductor in Friday training. Benjamin Pavard remains sidelined as well while he recovers from an adductor problem.

Chivu must also wait on late fitness assessments for John Stones, who is dealing with a hamstring issue, and Curtis Jones, who has an adductor concern.

Both are major doubts for the match, meaning Inter may need to lean on the rest of their squad to assemble a competitive lineup.
