Inter Milan are prepared to pay £20m to sign Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen this month, with the Italian side keen to beat off competition to secure the signing of the out-of-contract star.
The Danish international has entered the final months of his contract at the club and has shown no willingness to sign an extension, Eriksen having indicated his desire for a new challenge and is now free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs over a free transfer next summer.
However, according to the Sun, Inter are ready to jump ahead of the competition to secure a deal by offering Tottenham a fee to complete the move this January – the Serie A side hopeful of securing a cut-price deal for the 27-year-old in the region of £20m.
Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United have also been strongly linked with a move for the former Ajax star, though whether any of those sides would be prepared to pay a fee for a player available for nothing in six months time remains to be seen.
Inter are keen to add midfield additions with the club currently level on points at the top of Serie A with Juventus, the Nerazzurri also interested in a deal to sign Barcelona’s Chile international Arturo Vidal.
