Hughton admits Brighton will need good ‘structure’ against in-form Manchester United

Chris Hughton was speaking ahead of Brighton’s trip to Old Trafford where they will face a rejuvenated Manchester United.

The Seagulls manager was complimentary of this weekend’s opponents, who are yet to drop points under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“At the moment Manchester United are in really good form. The results speak for themselves and they’ve won games by scoring plenty of goals and playing well,” Hughton told his pre-match press conference.

While Manchester United at home will be a formidable challenge, Brighton have defeated the Red Devils in their last two meetings. The former Republic of Ireland player also revealed what his team will need to get a result out of the game.

“Both games against Manchester United at the Amex have been significant – the one in August kick-started our season.” He added.

“We know we’ll need a good structure and then also play well on the ball.

“The recent system has given us another set of options with three forward players and an extra one in the middle of the park.”
