Manchester United progressed to the quarter finals of the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Premier League strugglers Huddersfield. Here’s how the players rated:
Huddersfield Town
Jonas Lossl – 5
Nothing to do apart from pick the ball out of his net twice.
Jonas Hadergjonaj – 8
Great display from the right-back, causing constant problems, especially in the first half.
Zanka – 6
Beaten for pace and strength by Lukaku for both his goals.
Christopher Schindler – 5
Turned easily by Lukaku for the opener, and didn’t do much better for his second.
Terence Kongolo – 6
Did well down the left, but not as effective as Hadergjonaj on the opposite flank.
Phillip Billing – 7
An energetic and industrious display in the middle of the park, dominating the Man Utd midfield three.
Danny Williams – 7
Alongside Billing in midfielder, his energy levels helped the Terriers’ keep up constant pressure on United.
Colin Quaner – 7
Threatening down the right, combining well with Hadergjonaj, and causing problems for Luke Shaw.
Tom Ince – 5
Busy, but couldn’t display his qualities.
Rajiv van la Parra – 7
Another hard working performer, and kept the Man Utd back line busy, especially Ashley Young.
Steve Mounie – 6
A handful for Lindelof and Smalling throughout, with his energy levels and pressing,

Manchester United
Sergio Romero – 6
A few nervy moments, but stopped everything in his direction…somehow.
Ashley Young – 4
Didn’t have a great game and only got forward on rare occasions.
Victor Lindelof – 4
Struggled to cope at the back with some heavy Huddersfield pressure. Seemed to panic in possession.
Chris Smalling – 5
Marginally better than at Newcastle last week, but that wouldn’t have been hard. Did relatively well in the air, but couldn’t find a teammate with his passing.
Luke Shaw – 5
Probably the best of a bad bunch at the back. Got forward well, especially in the first half.
Nemanja Matic – 4
Didn’t get forward enough. Out passed, out fought and out worked by Huddersfield’s energy.
Michael Carrick – 6
The only one who seemed to be able to pass a ball at times as United gave the ball away time and time again.
Scott McTominay – 4
Worked hard but surrendered possession far too often.
Juan Mata – 6
Perfectly-weighted pass to set Lukaku free for United’s opener – then showed great composure for what looked like a second before it was ruled out by VAR.
Alexis Sanchez – 5
He was as quiet as he’s been in a United shirt in the first half – and left Shaw exposed on too many occasions. But that through-ball for Lukaku’s second was class
Romelu Lukaku – 8
Very little service, especially in the first half. But when he was given the ball, showed his continued recent improvement and composure to net two goals with two fine finishes.
