Huddersfield boss Wagner laments a lack of luck this season

David Wagner feels his Huddersfield Town side have been very unfortunate so far this season.

Huddersfield are in 19th position and still looking for their first league win going into their tenth game at the weekend, when the Terriers travel to take on Watford this Saturday.

Wagner feels that with just a little bit more luck, his side could be higher up the table than their current position.

“For certain, we’ve had no luck so far this season,” he said at his Friday press conference.

“We have to work further for our luck and that’s what we will do.”

Wagner feels that there is a great atmosphere around the club at the moment despite their current predicament.

“With this atmosphere and the spirit in our dressing room and the quality in training, you can’t imagine you’re speaking about a team without a win in nine games.

“We have to keep this mood and the performances on a high level.”

Following Saturday’s trip to Watford, Huddersfield have two hugely important home fixtures against Fulham and West Ham United.

Wagner will be hoping that their fortunes have improved by the time those two games come around, if not for Saturday’s game at Watford.
