Eddie Howe has revealed that Alexander Isak is a doubt for Newcastle’s clash with Leicester in the Premier League this week.
Isak picked up an issue after scoring in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Brentford in midweek. The Swedish striker netted his 20th league goal of the campaign at St James’ Park, becoming the first Newcastle player to reach that landmark in consecutive Premier League campaigns.

However, Howe has confirmed that Isak and Kieran Trippier are both doubtful to face Leicester.
“We’ll wait and see today, I will see them [Trippier and Isak] for the first time today,โ Howe said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
โHopefully theyโre feeling ok, we donโt think weโve got any big injuries from Wednesday night, but weโve certainly got a few niggles so letโs wait and see.”
Howe also said that Anthony Gordon was unlikely to feature, following the knock he picked up while representing England earlier this month.
โWe think he’s still recovering from a really, really bad knock he got for England, which he’s still got huge bruising on his leg. He’s done individual training. He’s not done group training.
โHe’s still not feeling 100% pain free so, again, let’s wait and see.โ
