Hodgson hails ‘really good team performance’ after West Brom win

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson hailed his sides display after his team comfortably beat West Brom 3-0 at the Hawthorns this evening in the Carabao Cup.

Andros Townsend was the star of the show for the Eagles netting a brace with left-back Patrick Van Aanholt also chipping in with a goal.

Speaking afterwards Hodgson was full of praise for how his side performed in both attack and defence.

“I must say I thought it was a really good team performance and I thought we were excellent in every aspect of the game,” Hodgson told reporters at his post-match press conference.

“It is not often you can say that as a coach, but I would find it hard to fault anything about our performance tonight.

“I thought our defending was excellent and that shows with the clean sheet and the very few chances that were created.

“And I thought our attacking play was at times of a really good class, with the combinations and it got us three goals, and could easily have got us so many more.”
