West Ham’s Javier Hernandez believes his team can finish in the top six of this season’s Premier League following their improved form of late.
‘Chicharito’ has only recently returned to the West Ham first-team and his comeback was timed perfectly to replace the injured Marko Arnautovic.
West Ham have also won their last three games in a row, with Hernandez leading the line in attack, scoring three goals across those three matches.
Speaking today, Hernandez voiced his belief of what this West Ham team is capable of when asked if his side could achieve European qualification.
“We believe in that and why not?” said Hernandez.
“We want to get into a European position and we said that at the start of the season.
“It looked unlikely to happen when we lost the first 12 points, but now we have been on a run and we are a few points away from sixth place.
“That’s our goal and hopefully we can do it.”
West Ham got off to a very slow start under Chilean manager, Manuel Pellegrini, but in recent weeks The Irons seem to have just clicked into gear right as they enter the frenetic winter schedule.
