Eden Hazard is ready to hand in a transfer request at Chelsea to force through a move to Real Madrid.
The Belgium international has just a year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, with the 28-year-old keen to leave the club after seven years in West London.
Spanish giants Real have held a long-standing interest in taking Hazard to La Liga and are believed to be preparing a bid to tempt Chelsea into selling their prized asset.
Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has spoken of his admiration of the player, whilst Hazard has made no secret of his desire to one day move to the Bernabeu.
According to AS Hazard will now hand in a transfer request, as he bids to engineer his move away from the club.
Chelsea are reported to be demanding a fee in excess of £100m for the player, though Madrid’s opening offers have been significantly lower for a player who will be available for free in 2020.
Hazard has enjoyed his most productive Premier League season to date this campaign, scoring 16 goals and providing 15 assists as Maurizio Sarri’s side secured a top-four finish.
