Fresh from the news that they have agreed a £31 million deal with Chelsea for goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid have now also reportedly reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Belgium international attacker Eden Hazard to move to the Bernabeu.
Hazard has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital for the last couple of seasons, with many speculating that his refusal to sign a new mega money contract at Stamford Bridge is due to the fact he is waiting for the 13 times European Champions to make a move.
The 27-year-old was in inspired form for Belgium at this summers World Cup in Russia, and he announced after his sides 2-0 victory over England in the third place playoff that he would be open to ending his six year stay at Chelsea for a new challenge.
Now according to the Daily Star, Real have made their move and an agreement has been reached with Hazard for him to move to Spain this summer, as Los Blancos look to fill the gapping hole in their side left by the departure of their all-time leading goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.
The report does however, also confirm that Real have not yet reached an agreement with Chelsea, with any deal for a player of Hazard’s class expected to be in the £150-200 million range.
