Hazard aiming to finish season with ‘something special.’

Chelsea kept their hopes of finishing in the top four this season alive with their 1-0 victory over Liverpool last Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues chances of finishing in the Champions League spots had looked dead and buried just a few weeks ago, but a run of four successive Premier League wins has given Antonio Conte’s side a glimmer of hope in their quest to finish this season positively.

As so often is the case with Chelsea, their sudden return to form has coincided with some dazzling displays by their mercurial playmaker Eden Hazard.

While the Belgium international concedes that his side are still reliant on Liverpool and Spurs dropping points to sneak into the top four, he has urged his team-mates to continue picking up wins in the hope of ending this campaign on a high.

“It is not in our hands,” Hazard told Chelsea TV.

“It does not only depend on us but we will play, we will hopefully win, and then we will see the results of Tottenham and Liverpool and we will give everything.

“Beating Liverpool was a massive result. Now the target is just to win and be in the top four at the end of the season, and if we play like this the last three games, we can have something special at the end of the season.

“Let’s hope for something big. We all work together and when we play this kind of game, it is a good feeling after the game.”

Chelsea welcome Huddersfield to Stamford Bridge tonight and if they pick up three points, they will at least bring the race for the top four down to the final round of fixtures, which will take place this weekend.
