Harvey Elliott praises Liverpool summer signing Szoboszlai

Harvey Elliott has praised the impact of Liverpool summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai and believes the new arrival has already ‘showcased his quality’.

Szoboszlai has impressed across the opening two fixtures of the Premier League campaign, having joined the Reds in a £60m deal from RB Leipzig earlier this summer.

The Hungary international was a standout performer as Liverpool beat Bournemouth 3-1 on Saturday and Elliott believes the energy and quality of his new team-mate is already apparent.

“He’s a great guy as well as a great player, there’s no doubt about that,” Elliott said of Szoboszlai, when speaking to the club’s official website.

“The game against Bournemouth, I think he showcased his quality in many different aspects.

“I think in the 90th-something minute he was still bombing forward and running like it was the first minute of the game. It’s nice to have that kind of player in the team. And especially him being young as well, let’s hope he can keep doing it for many years.

“He’s going to keep growing as a person and as a player. It’s just down to us to make sure he’s settling in OK and he’s getting used to his surroundings and making sure he’s at home.

“We can clearly see he’s got the quality and the ability. We just want him to do very, very well.”
