Erling Haaland is the “master of his destiny” amid reports linking the Manchester City striker with a transfer to Real Madrid.
The La Liga outfit are considering a £174 million move for the Norwegian superstar next summer, according to reports in Spain earlier this week.
“Erling is the master of his destiny. Not just now but always, 100 percent,” Rafaela Pimenta, the player’s representative, told Relevo.
“Erling is always going to do what is good for him and for his club, Manchester City. When everyone is willing to make a change, it will be done.
“He is not the type of player who is going to say ‘I’m leaving, bye, I don’t want to know anything’. It is not like this. And it’s not going to happen because respect comes before everything. If they give it to him, he will give it too.”
Haaland’s contract runs until 2027, putting Man City in a strong position when it comes to any potential transfer negotiations, but Pimenta believes that a deal could be struck if the player chooses to leave the Etihad in the near future.
“Respect comes from both sides,” she said. “I have no doubt that they will respect it too. If one day something has to happen, everything will be agreed upon. Because there is respect for understanding the other’s position. Discuss and reach a conclusion. Solutions will always be found.”
