Erling Haaland believes that the “fantastic” Omar Marmoush can be “something special” after impressing on his Man City debut in the Premier League.
The champions bounced back from their 4-2 defeat against PSG in midweek to come from behind and beat Chelsea 3-1 at home.
The Blues were the better side in the first half after Noni Madueke opened the scoring in the third minute following an error from Abdukodir Khusanov, who was also making his debut.
Man City recovered from their “horrific” start, as Haaland put it, to equalise through Josko Gvardiol shortly before the break and were far less sluggish in the second half as they took control of the game.

The Norwegian striker put them ahead in the 68th minute, lobbing Robert Sanchez after the Chelsea goalkeeper raced out of his area, before setting up Phil Foden for their third of the evening.
“I think it was overall a great performance even though we started horrific. It was a fantastic team performance and I am really happy,” Haaland told BBC Match of the Day.
“When we had the start like we did it is difficult but we played really well and we kept on going and kept on going. We kept pushing and second half was the same. In the end it is what we need to do. We need to lock it in the back and keep going attacking-wise.
“It is that early that it is almost like you start with -1 goal. This can happen but it is about keeping going. It is about that and trying to have peace of mind in your head. That’s what matters.”

Marmoush added a new dimension to Man City’s attack, running in behind to stretch the Chelsea defence and give Haaland space to attack. The striker predicts a fruitful partnership in the future.
“I think I have seen him in Bundesliga and watched him,” he said. “It is going to be fantastic playing with him.
“You can see has something special. I am looking forward to playing with him and it is going to be a really good time.”
