Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has hailed the impact new Toffees boss Marco Silva is having at Goodison Park.
Portuguese coach Silva took over at Everton during the summer and although he suffered a mixed start to life at Goodison Park, his side have started to put some impressive performances in over the last month or so, moving up to ninth in the Premier League table.
The Toffees won many plaudits for their draw away to a high flying Chelsea side just before the international break and midfield destroyer Gueye is really happy with how things are progressing under Silva.
“We try to keep the ball. Even playing against Chelsea, in the first half we did that well.’’ Gueye told evertontv.
“It was harder in the second half but it was a good point, we know it is hard to play there.
“We went there to challenge Chelsea and play our football.
“We are getting better every week, so we have to keep going and continue trying to produce the same level of performance [as at Chelsea] – if we do that then we will win a lot of games.
“We believe in ourselves as a team with the new manager and if we continue like that [the Chelsea performance] it will be good for the next game.”
