Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are in an ‘ideal situation’ ahead of the Premier League’s final day.
A fascinating Premier League title race will reach its conclusion this weekend, with leaders Man City knowing they will be crowned champions if they win at Brighton on Sunday.
Second-placed Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s side knowing a win will be enough to secure a first title in 29 years should City slip up.
Despite the tension ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, Guardiola insists City are in an ‘ideal situation’ ahead of their visit to the AmEx Stadium.
“In life you are judged by what you win. We are in the ideal situation on Sunday,” Guardiola told gathered journalists at his pre-match press conference.
“Afterwards we will either celebrate or we will congratulate Liverpool.”
Should City win, they will become the first side since Manchester United in 2009 to retain the Premier League title.
