Pep Guardiola has said that the Premier League title is a five horse race, suggesting that Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all have a chance of lifting the trophy next May.
However, with Tottenham up next for the reigning champions on Monday night, defeat at Wembley could conceivably leave City outside of the top four, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all within two points of the league leaders.
When asked if the title was a five horse race at his pre-match press conference, Guardiola effusively replied: “I don’t have a doubt about that. There is just two points difference in four, five, six teams so it means they are also strong.”
Meanwhile, his comments seem to rule out rivals Manchester United, who sit all the way back in 10th, nine points adrift of the leaders.
