Pep Guardiola was praising Manuel Pellegrini very highly ahead of Manchester City’s trip to West Ham United on Saturday.
Guardiola recognises the calibre of Pellegrini’s managerial career and paid homage to the Chilean when speaking to the media on Friday.
“His career speaks for itself,” Guardiola told his pre-match press conference.
“Even if you are blind you can recognise his style.
“In Villarreal, he put the team on a different level. At Real Madrid, he got 96 points and he was good enough here to win the league and help this club to be where we are right now.
“And he’s going to do well at West Ham, where there are many good supporters.”
City have won all but two of their opening 12 league games but Guardiola knows that their trip to London Stadium on Saturday pits them up against a West Ham side which is gradually improving.
Guardiola’s side is currently two points ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League, knowing that the title race may well be closer than last season.
