Manchester City travel to Merseyside to face Liverpool in a top of the table clash at Anfield on Sunday, and Pep Guardiola is well aware of the test his side will face.
Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea have all enjoyed great starts to the season, with all three sides currently unbeaten in the league.
Speaking to the press today, City boss Pep Guardiola emphasised just how strong he believes this Liverpool side is and how tough City’s task will be on Sunday.
“They are a top side in the way they play. Liverpool beat a lot of sides, not just City, last season,” said the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss.
“Liverpool is one of two greatest teams in England. We try to be close to them. They are a top side and we try to be closer every time.”
Manchester City have won their last four games in a row in all competitions and will be looking to keep that run going against Liverpool. The winner of Sunday’s fixture will enter the international break with a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League, while a draw will see City top on goal difference.
