Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City are only focussing on the present, and not the future, as they chase an unprecedented quadruple this season.
The Citizens picked up the first of a possible four trophies last week, with Raheem Sterling’s perfectly placed penalty being the decisive spot-kick at Wembley after Chelsea had held them to a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.
However, Man City boss Pep Guardiola has insisted that his side are taking things one game at a time, reminding City fans that this weekend’s opponents Bournemouth recently battered Chelsea 4-0.
“We are one point behind with 10 games left – many things can happen,” the Catalan manager said in his pre-match press conference.
“We have the Champions League round the corner and we have the FA Cup, so a lot of games – let’s hope the players recover well.
“Bournemouth are completely different at home from the team who play away. They beat Chelsea 4-0 not long ago! That’s my concern, not the future, the pressure. It makes no sense, nobody knows.”
