Pep Guardiola feels a lot of things can still happen between now and May as Manchester City and Liverpool do battle in the Premier League title race.
Guardiola’s focus seems to be solely on upping the level of performance from his City team after they slipped to a surprise defeat at Newcastle last Tuesday.
However, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager knows there is a long way to go in the title race and a lot can happen to any team in the remaining 14 games.
“It doesn’t matter how many points we are behind, we have to improve our game,’’ Guardiola told the press ahead of Arsenal’s visit to the Etihad on Sunday.
”We have done it before and we can do it again, but nothing changed whether we are one or two points behind or five, six, or seven.
“There are a lot of points to play for and a lot of things to happen.”
City will play Arsenal on Sunday at the Etihad before then travelling to Merseyside where they will face Everton on Wednesday night.
