Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann’s potential move to Manchester United dominated the first few months of last summers transfer window.
The France international’s public flirting with the Old Trafford club seemed to indicate that a move was bound to happen. However, in the end he decided to stay with Atletico after they were handed a transfer ban that stopped them from signing a replacement.
It now seems that the talented attacker is set to link up with Lionel Messi at Barcelona at the end of this season, and Griezmann has told French newspaper L’Equipe that he wants his future sorted one way or another before he heads to Russia for the World Cup this summer.
“I want to travel to Russia without this concern.”
“It’s not about knowing where I’ll play, but about having the peace of mind if I’m still in one place or another.
“It may be boring, but I have told my sister that, whether I stay or not, this will have to be resolved beforehand [prior to the World Cup].
“What bothers me the most is that everyone asks me about this issue.” Griezmann said.
