Griezmann confirms he won't make 'dirty move' to Man Utd

Antoine Griezmann has confirmed that he is staying at Atletico Madrid this summer in the wake of the clubs transfer ban.

The Frenchman had been linked with making a summer move to Manchester United, but the Europa League winners apparently cooled their interest earlier this week as they look for a more out-and-out striker.

Meanwhile, Griezmann’s club Atletico Madrid have seen an appeal over their transfer ban rejected, meaning they can not register any new players until January.

This wouldn’t stop any club triggering Griezmann, or any other players release clause, but the 26-year-old thinks it would be a ‘dirty move’ to leave his club in the lurch.

Speaking to French TV, Griezmann has confirmed he will not leave this summer:

“It’s a hard time for the club,

“It would be a dirty move to leave now – we talked to the leaders and we will be back for next season,”

Manchester United meanwhile are now looking elsewhere with Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata, Kylian Mbappe and Andrea Belotti all wanted by Jose Mourinho.
