Gracia disappointed at Watford defeat after ‘great performance’ against Arsenal

Javi Gracia watched as his Watford team spurned many chances at Arsenal today. The Gunners went on to make them pay with two second-half goals in a 2-0 victory.

Gracia clearly felt that Watford had done enough to at least earn a share of the spoils, or possibly even taken all three points.

“In this moment I am a little disappointed and upset because today it was a great performance and we deserved more than this result. But you know, we will try to do better next time,” Gracia told the BBC.

“We created clear chances in both halves. It was amazing saves from the goalkeeper. We dominated big parts of the game. We didn’t score the big chances and in one chance the other team scored.

“The last games we have had good performances. We have tried to improve that situation to get better results.

“We had more shots on target and more clear chances but we lost. I am very happy with the level of the team and the play. We only need to improve little things to get results.

“All the players are thinking we deserve a better result but it is the past so we need to prepare for Bournemouth and try to do better offensively.”

Watford are currently sixth in the league after their impressive start. The Hornets are up against Bournemouth next week at Vicarage Road.
