Manchester United and Chelsea fans will breath a sigh of relief at the news that Real Madrid have made Roma goalkeeper Alisson their number one transfer target this summer.
This development will however be a blow to Liverpool supporters, as Jurgen Klopp had been hoping to end his clubs long running goalkeeping problems by signing the hugely talented Brazil international.
Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois and United’s David De Gea have both been heavily linked with moves to the Bernabeu over the last few seasons.
However, according to reports in the Daily Mail Real have made signing Alisson their ”Plan A,” to replace their current ‘keeper Keylor Navas.
The Spanish side believe that the 25-year-old could cost a much as £40 million less that Courtois or De Gea, and will also be looking for a significantly lesser financial package in terms of wages.
Roma are said to be eager to cash in on the ‘keeper, who is set to start between the sticks for Brazil at this years World Cup in Russia.
Alisson moved to Italy from Internacional in his homeland in 2016, and a string of superb displays in Serie A have seen him become dubbed as the ”Messi of goalkeepers.”
